Some days, a cup of coffee and snuggle with a fleece blanket and a doggo are the highlights. I’ve been reading loads, drinking way too much coffee, and doing my fair share of online shopping (but not buying…sadly) as a result of the quarantine.
Most importantly, I’m praying for everyone affected by the COVID pandemic whether you’re on the front lines, filing for unemployment, or have lost a loved one. I pray for the strength of heart and mind in all of us right now while we’re searching for answers. Let’s stay home and ride this out together.
John 14:27 is particularly comforting to me, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
I want to share one last sentiment, too:
We aren’t put on this earth to be a productive byproduct of capitalistic culture. Your worth isn’t intrinsic to what you are or aren’t accomplishing or whether you are producing something worth monetary value during the quarantine. (I’m sooo guilty of feeling guilty that I’m not doing something.) You’re allowed to rest!
Here are a few things I’ve been doing to pass the time:
- Watching documentaries.
- Facetiming family/friends.
- Cuddling with my dog.
- Eating, loads.
- Scrolling social media.
- Going for walks.
Stay safe, everyone 💓
